Making Sense of US Population Growth
By Alan Caruba
It’s not very often you will find me agreeing with an avowed environmentalist, but facts are facts and, when it comes to population growth, they are ignored at our peril if America is to avoid sliding rapidly into a Third World status.
“The American people, especially our leaders, must bring themselves to face the reality that our population cannot be allowed to continue to grow without disastrous consequences,” said Donald Mann, president of Negative Population Growth, Inc. in response to the news that on October 17, 2006 our population passed the three hundred million mark.
Of that number, the estimate of illegal immigrants ranges from twelve to twenty million. In his bestselling book, “State of Emergency”, Patrick J. Buchanan noted that “Rarely have immigrants constituted 10 percent of our number,” adding that “We have almost as many foreigners here today as came in the first 350 years of our history…(and) most of those coming are breaking in.” The U.S. Census bureau calculates that an immigrant sets foot in America, legally and illegally, every 31 seconds.
Americans, in addition to the out-of-control immigration crisis, have an even larger crisis looming and it too will impact every aspect of our lives. With more people being born every day than are dying, we are less than thirty years away from a population of 400 million!
We do need a new, replacement, younger work force and the current Social Security and other benefits programs depends on this. It’s predicted to go broke in a decade or so anyway.
A dramatically growing population is going to require more roads, bridges, power plants, airports, housing, jails, schools, hospitals, and other elements of our national infrastructure just to keep pace with our current needs. By any measurement you apply—crime, healthcare, education, transportation—life in America is going to grow worse without the facilities and the energy to maintain our current lifestyles.
The quickest, easiest answer is to stop all immigration, legal and illegal, into the nation and do not tell me this cannot be done. It has already been done. Between 1924 and 1965, America declared a moratorium, a forty-year pause that allowed the “melting pot” to facilitate assimilation into our culture.
Dastardly Diversity
By Thomas E. Brewton
Diversity is another word battered beyond recognition by liberals and progressives. Orwellian NewSpeak has made the word diversity into a bangalore torpedo to undermine the defenses guarding civilized society.
Liberal-socialists, with our educational system in the vanguard, have made diversity into an end in itself, a principle of materialistic social justice.
In education, for example, the goal of diversity is elevated to a higher status than providing the best possible education for students. Diversity is, not an educational principle, but a correlate to Lenin's program to create the New Soviet Man via material factors imposed by intellectuals. Students are somehow to be made better by the corruption of a system that supposedly is devoted to academic excellence.
As economist Thomas Sowell has so articulately observed many times, poorly prepared students, of whatever race, gain nothing by being admitted to colleges with academic standards beyond their reach. Either the better students are held back, or the poorly prepared students are discouraged and eventually drop out. Nothing is gained by the mendacity of liberal-progressive educators giving every student a minimum grade of B. Victims of grade-inflation have simply been set up for failure and embittered cynicism in real-world job competition.
Less well prepared students can get a good education at colleges with less stringent academic standards. Students who earn Bs and As in those colleges can have the priceless gift of real self-respect based on their own hard work.
Diversity of the liberal-progressive stripe has disastrous consequences for the survival of the United States. Economically we see its results in the widening gap between linguistic, mathematical, and scientific competence of average American graduates and their overseas counterparts. In an increasingly technical world, the United States is suffering, not only from inflated production costs arising from the welfare state and unionism, but from falling behind in the innovation curve.
We can celebrate the diversity of our student bodies, but at the cost of fewer and fewer Nobel Prizes for science awarded to Americans in the future, along with more and more manufacturing transferred overseas.
Liberal Negativism
by Thomas E. Brewton
Liberals see the natural world as flawed and presume hubristically to restructure nature to fit their artificial, intellectual blueprint for perfection. In contrast, religious Jews and Christians are instructed to take joy in God's marvelously created cosmos, to recognize that the world is complex far beyond the capacity of any human minds to comprehend its entirety.
Liberals look to Marxian economics. Religious Jews and Christians seek God's guidance.
Liberal Republicans and Democrats, along with the media that follow the lead of the New York Times, are ceaselessly intent upon criticizing everything about life in the United States. This is true not just during political campaign season, but unendingly so.
Perfection, from liberals' viewpoint, would be a theoretical world-society with equal distribution of income in a socialistically regulated economy, under a one-world government led by socialist intellectuals in the UN.
If a liberal sees anything that differs from his idea of perfection, his knee-jerk reaction is to demand a new law to regulate or correct it. The implicit assumption is that everything in society is the product of materialistic forces emanating from the political state. Hence the harping, for example, on income gaps, and the presumption that the Federal government can, and should, run the economy to eliminate income discrepancies.
David Limbaugh's new book "Bankrupt" (see Brent Bozell's review in the Washington Times) documents this fundamental posture of negativism.
Seeing the world as all wrong, while confidently believing that you can fix everything if you are put in charge, is a basic characteristic of the gnostic doctrine of liberal-socialism.
As I wrote in The Da Vinci Code: Liberal Gnosticism:
Gnosticism is the belief that intellectual elites have secret knowledge about the structure of human society and about the relationship between humans and the cosmos. These elites are thereby empowered to direct human affairs.
Dutch Author Hiding from Islamic Extremists in Holland
by Jim Kouri, CPP
From 1998 until 2006, W.G. Van Dorian worked as an attorney in Criminal Law and Immigration Law in The Netherlands and Aruba. As such, Van Dorian came into close contact with terrorism and religious extremism. After the recent murders of Dutch filmmaker Theo van Gogh and Dutch politician Pim Fortuyn (supposedly the next president), Van Dorian decided The Netherlands was no longer a safe haven to write anything that is critical towards extremism.
He emigrated from The Netherlands to South America to publish his novel without having to fear repercussions from extremists.
Part One of a series titled The New World Order, the fictional thriller, The Invisible Invasion, describes a possible escalation in the world of (nuclear) conflict in the future with very realistic roots of religious extremism in present day Europe.
Recently, contributor Jim Kouri spoke with Van Dorian via e-mail. He remains in hiding in South America.
Jim Kouri: The Invisible Invasion is a fiction novel. Nevertheless, events that occur in the book don't seem to be far from reality. How much is fiction and how much is already occurring?
W. G. Van Dorian: As a defense attorney I was close to the fire. I had to defend suspected terrorists. Not just as my clients but also in daily life one noticed the aggressive behavior with which many Islamic immigrants refused to adapt to European culture and lifestyle (backed by overanxious leftist interest groups) and eventually turned against that society by renouncing anything that is different to Islamic culture, such as: fair treatment of women, tolerance, freedom of speech, human rights (except when they can appeal for discrimination, etc). The European societies backed by leftist politics let them for years and now someone who dares to criticize or even discuss Islam is a dead man. It's like this was their plan all along, thus I chose the title "the invisible invasion". Even though it's just a fiction thriller, I see these events as the beginning of the end of democracy and freedom of speech.
Kouri: You call the 'Bad guys' "Radicals" yet all directions in the book go toward Radical Islam. Why not call them such?
Kim Jong be-Il-lin’
by Thomas Lindaman
With the recent news that North Korea tested a nuclear weapon, the world is left asking one question: Will Samuel L. Jackson sign on for a sequel to "Snakes on a Plane"? Yes, our mindset towards North Korea’s nuclear program has been…well, lacking. We’ve paid more attention to Anna Nicole Smith than to Kim Jong Il. And judging from the size of Smith’s…talent, I can see why.
As the situation in North Korea starts getting more tense, we look to our political leaders for answers. President George W. Bush has started talking tough, pushing for sanctions against the country and saying the international community will react. How? By letting us do everything and then complaining about what we’re doing? Yeah, that’ll work, just like it’s worked for the UN all these years.
Since Bush doesn’t have a good idea, what about the Democrats? They’ve come out and blamed the President for his bad policy towards North Korea, so naturally you’d think they have a better plan. Given that both Bill Clinton and Madeline Albright were tricked by Kim Jong Il into thinking the little guy was cooperating, I’m not sure I can take the Democrats that seriously. It’s like getting scammed in a game of One Card Monty.
So, who do we turn to for answers? Since you’re reading my column, I guess I should come across with some. Fortunately, I do have a few.
1) Let him try to launch a nuke. Without a doubt, Kim Jong Il is the most delusional leader this side of Howard Dean. He’s what would happen if Mao Tse Tung and Ross Perot had a kid. (Okay, I’m going to need therapy after that analogy.) He has a Napoleon complex to beat the band, so what does he do? He’s trying to turn North Korea into a superpower. However, there is one slight problem. Seems his missile technology is derived from the same aerodynamic engineering that you can find in a balsa wood toy airplane with a wind-up propeller and a rubber band. If Kim Jong Il keeps that up, he’ll take himself out of the picture.
2) Laugh at Kim Jong Il. Kim Jong Il is also an egotistical man. Anybody who is that ugly and has that many picture of himself up in public has to be. Either that or he got one heck of a deal through Olan Mills. The best way to handle people like that is to mock him. I suggest we jam all radio and television frequencies in North Korea and play "Team America: World Police" on a continuous loop until Kim Jong Il plays ball. Sure, he’ll get mad and stomp about, but what can he do? He can’t launch a missile at us for the reason referenced above, and he can’t just let it go. He’s in the ultimate no-win situation. The only way to make it worse would be to make him the new permanent co-host of "The View."
Zen and the Art of Raising Geopolitically-savvy Kids
by Erik Rush
It's amazing what one can learn about politics – and people – from a ten year-old…
My son (the ten year-old) saw the horrible condition of the starving people in Darfur (the Sudanese region in which human rights-related atrocities and ethnic cleansing have been going on since 2003) on a television news report. Every now and then, he will view people in similar condition in other war-torn nations, or ones in which there is political inequity (to put it politely). Obviously, the images of starving children are particularly disturbing to him.
"Why don't we send them food?" he asks.
"Well, we do," I tell him. "America sends billions of dollars in financial and food aid to countries like those every year."
"Billions?!?"
"That's right."
"Then why are they still starving?"
"Good question," say I. "Because the fat, aboriginal scum who run those countries generally steal most of the money and food and share it with the army in order to keep themselves in power."
"What's 'aboriginal' mean?"
"Never mind."
Miyamoto Musashi, the 16th-century samurai and great military figure in Japanese history, wrote about a concept he called "immature strategy" in his book Go Rin No Sho (A Book of five Rings). The basis of this was that one could not be an effective swordsman, military leader – or anything else, for that matter – utilizing underdeveloped, half-baked ideas or techniques.
Hence my son's initial response: Having been raised in a culture in which people ostensibly care about others, he reasoned that throwing a mess of resources at the problem would readily fix it. Then there's the fact that kids of that age still think everything ought to be the way they think it ought to be – just because.
Immature strategy; my ten year-old isn't aware of the political nuances involved, the corruption, greed and lack of concern for life that is business as usual in many cultures, but is anathema to the Judeo-Christian ethic to which he has been exposed. So his solutions are on a par with his maturity as well as his frame of reference.
Waiting for Martin
By Rev. T. Myles Weiss MA MFT
Where’s the Muslim Martin?
Where is the voice of reform that will transform this religion of one billion people?
We need a voice similar to Martin Luther, who challenged the forces of corrupt Christianity. In his day, he dared to call for the end of selling indulgences, that vile practice which enslaved poor families by exchanging their hopes of eternity for their meager finances. The church of his era sold empty promises. Luther demanded change. He spoke out for a more spiritual future for those who followed Christ. He called on leaders to admit their failures and change their ways.
We need a voice like Martin Luther King Jr. who challenged the forces of segregation and spoke up for the civil rights of Black people in America. He used non-violent protest to draw attention to this shameful fact of America’s past. His voice changed our country.
We need a voice like Martin Short, whose self deprecating comedic styling may be instructional for the Muslim world, which seems to have a desperate need for a sense of humor. This ability to laugh at one’s self is seemingly absent from the mentality of mainstream Islam. If it is present, we need to hear it.
We are waiting for the “religion of peace” to demonstrate a self-correcting movement toward moderation. We are waiting for the masses of Islam to demand corrections to Jihadist theology. We are waiting for the civil rights enjoyed by Muslims in America and Israel to be granted to women, Jews, and Christians, Buddhists and Hindus in Muslim lands.
We are waiting for a humanity enhancing humor that reaches across differences and celebrates the universal human condition by “lightening up” and laughing a little.
We are waiting for Martin.

Muslim Holiday To Replace Christian Holiday in Netherlands
The CNV trade union federation in the Netherlands are replacing Christian holidays Islamic holiday because some Christian holidays are only considered shopping days and are not celebrated as Christian holidays.
But what about the Christians who want to properly celebrate the Holy days?
CNV vice chairman Rienk van Splunder wishes "to offer Muslims the freedom to practice their faith". The federation is prepared to sacrifice Whit Monday or Easter Monday for a free day during the Sugar Festival. This is the feast day held to celebrate the end of Ramadan, the Islamic month of fasting.
Van Splunder feels the feast days of other religions are insufficiently honoured in the Netherlands. By introducing official holidays on such feast days, he hopes to create "freedom and respect for one another".
Last year, CNV reported it was not yet prepared to sacrifice Whit Monday for a free day during the Sugar Festival. "But his can no longer be sustained in 2006," as Van Splunder stated Friday.
According to Van Splunder, Whit Monday and Easter Monday originate from the Christian tradition but the holidays have long lost their Christian meaning. "For most Dutch people, these two holidays have turned into extra shopping days". The CNV vice chairman denies that he is calling into question the Christian tradition of The Netherlands. Sharia Law becomes a reality in Netherlands as Christian holidays are replaced.
Muslim Pharmacist Refuses To Sell Birth Control Pill
In the UK a Muslim Pharmacist who is reported to be very religious, refused to dispense the over-the-counter birth control "morning after pill." The worried mother was outraged.
"I asked for the pill because you have to take it within 72 hours and this was now 36 hours. I don't want to increase my family and this was an accident so I needed to take the pill. In the end I had to go to the doctor's surgery."
"I was angry because he is a dispensing chemist and it is his job to dispense drugs. If he can't do that on religious grounds then perhaps he should not be in the profession."
The row flared up when Jo-Ann called at her local branch of Lloyd's Pharmacy in Green Arbour Road, Thurcroft.
She said: "This is a perfectly legal drug but there is a man introducing his own laws. It cannot be right that he can pick and choose the drugs he sells." (DailyMail.co.uk)
There are some beliefs that I would agree with Islam is their pro-life stance for the unborn. But why would the Jihadists want to kill innocent people because of their religious beliefs.
You would think the Muslim Pharmacist would want to sell the birth control pill. In the Islamic way of thinking, it would be one less person to deal with in their jihad against non-Muslims.
Muslim Teacher Suspended For Wearing the Veil
The wearing of the Muslim veil in the UK has become a very controversial issue.
A Muslim teacher assistant was suspended for not taking off her veil while teaching. She stated that she never denied not wanting to take it off in front of the children, but refused to take it off in front of her male co-workers.
The school defended its action because it believes face-to-face contact is necessary for the teaching of bilingual classes and has nothing to do with any religious belief.
Recently, Commons Leader Jack Straw has revealed that he asks his Muslim constituents to remove their veils in meetings in order to talk face-to-face.
Then the Major of London, Ken Livingstone has stated that he agrees with the majority that the veils need to go but not the way Jack Straw is dealing with the issue.
He told BBC Radio 4's Today programme: "Getting Muslim women to give up the veil, which I suspect is something most people would like to see in the long-term – including myself – is not going to be done by old white male politicians telling them to do it.
"It will be change from within the Muslim community, and that's why it is important we should engage with the progressive elements and leaders in the Muslim community, rather than what really America has been doing over the last 30 years, which is alliances with, say, the Saudi royal family and the most backward and reactionary elements." (DailyNews.co.uk)
The veil issue is intensifying.
[..] Mr Straw denied suggestions that his comments had fueled divisions between Muslim and non-Muslim communities.
Last week a woman was racially abused at a bus stop in Liverpool and her veil was torn from her face.
Mr Straw said: "I have spoken to police about the incident in Liverpool and I hope and pray that the perpetrator is caught and punished.
"The wearing of veils in schools has been an ongoing issue for some time and is a separate matter." (DailyNews.co.uk)
